A Condolence meeting for Khalifa bin Zayed
Teachers and Students remembered Sheikh Khalifa at Shaykh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Peshawar.
A Condolence meeting for Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan former President of the United Arab Emirates held today at the Shaykh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Peshawar.
A large number of faculty members, staff and students from different disciplines attended the meeting and prayed for the departed soul.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees and Director Shaykh Zayed Islamic Centre Prof Dr Rashid Ahmad has also expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Sheikh Khalifa.
In his condolence message, the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Idrees prayed that Almighty Allah may grant courage to the members of bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude and the departed soul may rest in eternal peace.
He added that Pakistan and UAE have laid strong foundations of mutually beneficial relations, friendship and peaceful cooperation over the years.
He further added that the last major earthquake in Kashmir occurred in October 2005, killing almost 80,000 people and leaving 3.5 million homeless, mainly in Azad Kashmir, United Arab Emirates Former President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the immediate dispatch of humanitarian aid to the region, rescue teams and offered assistance to more than 10,000 quake-affected people in Azad Kashmir and adjoining areas.
The participants remembered Sheikh Khalifa as an excellent ruler with a composed and very polite personality.
